Man sought in connection with missing teen who is now safe

The man accused of leaving the Browns Ferry area with a 16-year-old girl Thursday is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and is being sought by investigators.

Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said a search is being conducted for Anthony Marquise Williams,of 821 Sutton Road in Georgetown.

Nyala Smith was reported missing at about 10 a.m. Thursday, about three-and-a-half hours after she was seen at her bus stop on Sutton Road.

She was found at a residence on Fuzzy Drive in the Oatland Community of Georgetown County at about 5 p.m.

Cuthbertson said Smith was not abducted as initially reported by the Sheriff’s Office.

No other details have been released about what happened while Smith was missing.

Anyone that has any information on the whereabouts of Anthony Williams is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 843-546-5101.
