Taking a page from We Just Said No to ‘The Dirty South’ on Facebook, residents and businesses in Pensacola Beach, Fla., have reportedly blocked plans by 495 Productions to film the second season of ‘Party Down South’ in their community.
Late Thursday, W.A. “Buck” Lee, Santa Rosa Island Authority executive director, told the News Journal that producers were no longer planning to come to Pensacola Beach.
The Santa Rosa Island Authority is the governing branch overseeing the direction of Pensacola Beach on Santa Rosa Island.
Two women in the area established a Facebook page, Locals Against Party Down South in Pensacola, that has drawn more than 10,000 “likes” since its Feb. 26 founding, with many posts highlighting information from the “We Just Said No” page created by Murrells Inlet residents.
Requests for information on where 495 Productions may head next from the company’s publicists and the CMT network, on which “Party Down South” airs were not immediately answered.
