Donna Griffith

Flora Dudley

Flora Vivian Rogers-Dudley passed away on February 20, 2014 in Georgetown, South Carolina at the home of her daughter, Jane Goude. She was a much loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, servant, and friend to many. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church in Gallivants Ferry, SC. Burial followed at Antioch’s Cemetery

Born on November 11, 1928 in Dillon County, SC, she was a daughter of Ernest Weatherly Rogers and Mrs. Ina Avannah Smith Rogers.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dolly Dudley, her husband Chalmers “C.H.” Dudley, and a brother, Sidney Ishmael Rogers.

Mrs. Dudley enjoyed sewing, cooking, and serving her church and community. While living in Charleston, SC for many years, she was employed by Manhattan Shirt Company. Having returned to Georgetown, SC; she worked as a seamstress at Skyline / Shamrock Manufacturing and later as a cosmetic consultant for Koscot Cosmetics. After retiring from Sarah Lee/ Haynes Hosiery in Marion, SC, she enjoyed being a community caregiver for family and friends.

Mrs. Dudley enjoyed playing softball in her younger years and passed down the love of that sport and baseball to three subsequent generations.

She loved serving her church as a teacher of students - adults and preschoolers.

Survivors include three children, Sidney Ebb Dudley, Sr. (Margie), Moncks Corner, SC, Timothy Chalmers Dudley, Aynor, SC, Jane D. Goude (Danny), Georgetown, SC; seven grandchildren. nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest Eugene Rogers and Daniel Frank Rogers both of Charleston, SC; a number of nieces and nephews.

Levine Falor

Levine “Kit” Nebb Falor, 80, widow of William G. Falor, passed away on February 20, 2014 at her home.

Born on June, 14, 1933, in Savannah, GA, she was a daughter of Rudolph Nebb and the late Ethel Shuman Nebb. Mrs. Falor attended First Assembly of God and worked at Georgetown Memorial Hospital and International Paper Mill. She enjoyed her animals, dancing and gardening.

Survivors include two sons Rev. Johnny Wilson (Wanda) of Georgetown and Rev. Mark Wilson (Linda) of Georgetown; a special son, Eugene Player (Tommi Ann) of Georgetown; eight grandchildren, Johnny Wilson, Jr. (Katina), Steven Wilson, Timothy Wilson (Rebecca), Garrett Wilson, Tami Ward (Anthony), Cindy Cribb (Arnie), Sherry Bell (Scott) and David Wilson (Cathy); 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Player; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Wilson.

Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Sunday, February 23, 2014 in the Graham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Wilson and Rev. Mark Wilson officiating. Burial followed in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Graham Funeral Home.

Memorial may be made to the Saint Frances Animal Center, 1258 N. Ridge St., Georgetown, SC 29440.

Donna Hawley Griffith

A memorial service for Donna Hawley Griffith, 63, of Columbia was held Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo. A reception followed at the funeral home.

Mrs. Griffith passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014. Born in Georgetown, she was the daughter of the late Bert D. and Elaine Dusenbury Hawley. For the last ten years, she was the Clinical Patient Coordinator for Midlands Tech Dental Program. She was active in community and charitable service, including volunteering at Give Kids a Smile. She will be remembered for her selfless acts and caring nature. Her life was represented by the never-ending gift of kindness and providing for others. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Surviving are her sons, Joel Slotnick (Anne) and Ryan Slotnick; step-daughter, Sheri Griffith Jones; granddaughter, Cheyenne Slotnick; grandson, Brandon Jones; and sisters Sybil Bell, Susan Moore, and Karen Helms.

James Johnson Jr.

James Harold “Jimmy” Johnson, Jr., 60, husband of Patty Watkins Johnson, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Born on February 24, 1954, in Banner Elk, NC, he was the son of the late James H. Johnson, Sr. and the late Mary Greene Johnson. Mr. Johnson attended First Baptist Church and was a member of the Winyah Cruisers Car Club and the Swamp Fox Fellowship Riders.

Survivors include his wife of Georgetown, Patty Watkins Johnson; a son, Seth J. Johnson of Georgetown; and a number of other family members.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ted Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Graham Funeral Home

Claire E. Talmadge

Claire Elizabeth Talmadge age 88, of Pawleys Island, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at her residence.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Jenny Michaelson of Flekkefjord Norway. Mrs. Talmadge attended Parsons School of Design in Manhattan. She worked for McMillen Interior Design in New York. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Clifton Talmadge.

Survivors include a son, Leigh McCall and wife Michelle Talmadge of Columbia and a daughter, Lynn Talmadge of Litchfield.

Services will be private.
