A man with ties to the Heather Elvis case says his vehicle was shot at while he was driving in Georgetown County Feb. 6.

According to a Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office incident report, a deputy met with Sidney Moorer, 38, of Myrtle Beach at the Kangaroo convenience store at the corner of Church and St. James Streets Feb. 6.

Moorer said he, his wife and their three kids were driving south on Highway 17 between DeBordieu and Georgetown when someone driving a Ford F-150 got within 50 feet of his bumper.

He said the vehicle had been following him for several miles.

Moorer said he heard “two distinct shots from an automatic handgun” come from the suspects vehicle, the report states.

He said the driver of the vehicle shut off his lights and he lost sight of him.

There was no damage to the victim’s car and the suspects were not found.

An Horry County police report states Moorer and Elvis had a relationship and had phone contact on Dec. 18. Elvis has been missing from Horry County since Dec. 17.
