The Committee for African American History Observances (CAAHO) will pressent its 32nd Annual Black History Parade on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.

The parade line-up will be at East Bay Park in downtown Georgetown starting at 11 a.m.

The parade will proceed down Front Street.

Grand Marshall for the parade is Dr. William J. Walker, a native of Georgetown who was the first African American to serve as director for a county-affiliated agency since Reconstruction — the Georgetown County Alcohol and Drug Commission; the first African to serve as president of the Georgetown County United Way; and the only African American to serve as chairman of the South Carolina Authorities of Alcohol and Drug Commissions.

A reception will follow immediately at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1703 Emanuel Street.

The third annual Dreamkeepers Parade awards program will be held on Saturday, March 1 at Mt. Zion Church at 6:30 p.m. Parade trophies will be awarded.
