Food Truck Fest set for Saturday at SBB

  • Wednesday, February 19, 2014

The second annual food truck festival and swap meet is set for Saturday at Suck Bang Blow.

Three of Charleston’s favorite food trucks are scheduled to head north for the event, which gets underway with the swap meet at 9 a.m. The food trucks, Cast Iron Food Truck, Cory’s Grilled Cheese and Geechee Island Food Truck, joined by the Inlet’s own Creek Ratz, are expected to begin serving about 11 a.m., and the event winds up about 5 p.m.

Cast Iron Food Truck, run by Victor and Sheila, has made a strong impression on South Carolina with its SC barbecue sandwich and its Mad Cap Portabella, to name a couple.

Cory is bringing his variety of grilled cheese sandwiches, complete with toppings and different breads — including a gluten-free one — to SBB for the second consecutive year.

There is no word yet as to whether or not Cory is bringing his dessert sandwiches.

New this year is a visit from the Geechee Island Food Truck, which features smoked meats.

Locals will recognize the Creek Ratz truck, which features sandwiches and hot, grilled food.

Fin is scheduled to provide music for the event, and a corn hole tournament also is on tap.
