Waccamaw High’s boys basketball team beat Dillon 69-59 on Monday night to force a tie-breaker game Wednesday night.
The Warriors and Wildcats both finished the regular season with identical 5-5 records in Region VII-AA. The winner of Wednesday night’s game, which will be played at Aynor High School, will finish third in the region. The loser will finish fourth.
Rob Ferraro and Adonis Williams combined for 39 points on Monday.
Jemon Smalls had 156 points, including three three-pointers, Jack Dwyer had six points, and Justin Busby and Stephon Funnye had four each.
The Warriors finished the regular season 11-10, including seven wins at home.
The Lady Warriors lost 71-38 to the Wildcats.
Alexis Grove had nine points to lead Waccamaw.
Sydney Derrick had seven points, Jada Torrance had six, Jazmyn Torrance had five, and D’Avion Funnye had four.
Waccamaw was waiting to see who won Tuesday night’s Kingstree/Lake City game to see where its first-round playoff game will be.
