A Johnsonville woman has been arrested and a Georgetown man is being sought in connection with a theft investigation. Lauren Poston, 26, was arrested Tuesday afternoon. She is charged with two counts of Unlawful Transportation of Stolen Metal and two counts of Receiving Stolen Goods. Police are looking for Rocky Altman, 32, of Bay Street.

According to a police report, a worker at R&R Metals reported a man brought in two rolls of copper wire Feb. 5 that he believed belonged to the city.

A city electric worker said he believes the wire was taken from a city truck when it was parked at the intersection of Church and Congdon Streets Feb. 4.

The R&R worker said he could not identify the person who brought the wire to the business. However, Police Investigator Jason Ward says the investigation revealed Altman as the suspect. It was also determined Poston was involved.

Anyone with information on Altmanís whereabouts should call police at 545-4300.
