Adoption Tent event: St. Frances Animal Center will have an Adoption Tent Event at Pet Smart in Myrtle Beach from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will also be at Pet Smart in Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach on Feb. 15 and Pet Smart in Surfside Beach on Feb. 16. Volunteers are needed. Call 546-0780.

SHABBAT SERVICES: Temple Beth Elohim, a Reform Jewish congregation located at 230 Screven St., holds services every Friday at 7:30 p.m. Call 527-7545.

Grand Strand Porcelain Art Club: The Grand Strand Porcelain Art Club meets at Inlet Square Mall Meeting Room, across from Books-A-Million at 10 a.m. on the second Friday of each month, Sept. through May. Anyone interested in learning porcelain (china) painting call Mary Rodamer at 237-3315.

PREPARED CHILDBIRTH CLASS - GEORGETOWN: Education Center at the Georgetown Memorial Hospital campus from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. $50 fee; pre-registration is required by calling 520-8490 or by self registration via the hospital’s website.

Blood Drive: The American Red Cross will be having a blood drive at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 7275 Browns Ferry Road from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Birding tour: A guided bird & nature tour will be held at Hobcaw Barony from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join the group for a tour of this 17,500 acre preserve from the pineywoods to the sea! For reservations (space is limited), call Hobcaw at 843-546-4623.

Concert: Father Pat Stenson partnered to bring the Lowcountry Voices performance of An Evening of African American Music, at 4 p.m. Lowcountry Voices is a multicultural and ethnically diverse choral organization. The choir is based in North Charleston. Tickets are available at Aunny’s Restaurant, downtown Georgetown as well as the Cultural Arts Council of Georgetown County. winter revival: St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, located at 3462 South Island Road in Georgetown; where Rev. Jason L. Coakley is the pator, is hosting their annual winter revival Feb. 17-21. Service begins at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The revivalist for the week is apostle Dr. Mary Scott Nelson, senior pastor of Miracle Temple Bible Center Ministries, Inc., located in Salters.

republican club: The regular montlhy meeting of the Waccamaw Neck Republican Club will be held at 7 p.m. at the Waccamaw Neck Branch Library. The speaker will be Pat McKinney, candidate for Lt. Governor.

GEORGETOWN LIONS: The Georgetown Lions Club will meet at 7 p.m. at Deborah’s Kitchen in the Maryville Section of Georgetown.

Tax-aide program: AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers offer free, individualized tax help to low and moderate income taxpayers. Volunteers will be at the Georgetown Library on Tuesdays Feb. 4 through April 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. and Thursdays Feb. 6 through April 10 from 2 to 6 p.m. They will be at the Waccamaw Neck Branch Library on Tuesdays Feb. 4 through April 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. and Wednesdays Feb. 5 through April 9 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

COMMUNITY PRAYER BREAKFAST: The public is invited to Andrews Community Prayer Breakfast at Antonio’s, 13 E. Main St. in Andrews, at 6 a.m.

Bereavement support group: A bereavement support group meets twice monthly on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 5 – 6:15 p.m. in the small conference room of Morningside of Georgetown, the assisted living facility at 2628 N. Fraser St. The group is facilitated by Harrison Grey, D.Min., Ph.D., Bereavement Coordinator for Tidelands Community Hospice of Georgetown (546-3410.)

Grief Group: Hospice Care of South Carolina offers a Grief Group the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at The Steward/Parker House on Front Street in Georgetown.

NARFE: National Active and Retired Federal Employees, has a luncheon meeting at the Litchfield Country Club, on the second floor, at 11:30 a.m. Call Emily Aspel at 527-0553.

MENTAL HEALTH: The Waccamaw Center for Mental Health Board meets at 7 p.m. Call 347-5060 for the meeting location.
