Registration has opened for the March 29, 2014, Race for the Inlet.
The event, a fundraiser for Murrells Inlet 2020, historically draws a crowd to the USATF-certified course that begins and ends at Morse Park Landing.
Prizes go to the overall top male and female finishers in the chip timed 5K and 8K races, as well as to male and females in each age group.
People who register by March 12 are guaranteed a race T-shirt. Fees are $20 to walk or run with the chip and $15 to walk or run the 5K race without the chip timing.
Starting March 13, the fees rise to $20 for the 5K race or walk with no chip and $25 for the 8K events and the 5K race with chip. Last-minute entries – from 4 p.m. March 27 to the day of the race are $25 for the 5K events with no chip and $30 for the chip in the 5K race and the 8K events.
Registration is being accepted online, for a fee at http://www.active.com/murrells-inlet-sc/running/races/murrells-inlet-race-for-the-inlet-2014, or at the MI 2020 office.
