Pawleys Island Christian Academy attends SCISA 2014 State Literary Meet

On Wednesday, Feb. 5 students from Pawleys Island Christian Academy attended the South Carolina Independent School Association 2014 State Literary Meet. The statewide event was hosted by Faith Christian School located in Summerville. Eligible students, from second to eleventh grade, competed in the following categories: storytelling, poetry recitation, oral interpretation, extemporaneous speaking, and essay writing. Ross Cox won first place in the fifth grade boys division for poetry recitation.

Pawleys Island Christian Academy matriculated its first students in the fall of 2001, beginning with 55 students in grades Pre K through fifth grade. PICA expanded in 2012, with the addition of a high school. The mission of the school is to equip and empower students academically, emotionally, and spiritually to fulfill their leadership roles in Christís great commission. The school is a ministry of Pawleys Island Community Church and is located at 10304 Ocean Highway, Pawleys Island.
