Schools closed again Thursday; Weather gets better tomorrow

Due to continued icing, fallen trees blocking roads, and power outages in parts of the county, there will be no school in Georgetown County School District for students on Thursday. All 220- and 240-day employees should report to work by 10 a.m. if conditions allow.

A decision about Friday’s schedule will be made Thursday afternoon.

Improving weather

The forecast for tonight: Mainly rain but a little sleet is also possible. It is expected to remain above freezing with a low of 35, Winds from the north 10 to 16 mph could cause more falling trees.

Thursday: A 40% chance of rain or drizzle, mainly during the morning. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 32.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58.
