Closings, cancellations and delays due to weather

Georgetown County Schools are closed Wednesday. A decision about Thursday will be made Wednesday afternoon.  

 **Georgetown County government offices and facilities will open at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The 2.5-hour delay is in response to the possibility of dangerous road conditions resulting from freezing rain, sleet and ice accumulation forecast to begin Tuesday night.
No bridges in Georgetown County will close, but motorists are advised to use extreme caution when crossing during icy conditions. Elevated road surfaces, including bridges and overpasses will be the first roadways to be impacted by winter conditions. Dangerous road conditions are expected to persist though Wednesday.

The county's automated information hotline has also been activated. The hotline, at (843) 545-3900, is available 24 hours a day when the county's EOC is activated and will contain the latest storm information. For questions or other information, call Georgetown County Emergency Management, (843) 545-3273.

***  All Georgetown County Bureau of Aging Services programs are canceled for Wednesday.

** First Baptist Church in Georgetown is closed today due to the weather.  There will be no community Bible study or activities tonight.

***All three campuses of Horry Georgetown Technical College will be closed on Wed., Feb. 12, due to a winter storm underway that is expected to continue through Thurs. morning, Feb. 13. A decision regarding opening or closing the college on Thurs., Feb. 13, will be made the afternoon of Wed., Feb. 12. Please check the college homepage or local media for updated information.

**Miss Ruby's Kids Board meeting and Education Mentor meeting have been cancelled for Wednesday

** The Career Fair Scheduled for Thursday, at Georgetown High has been cancelled.

** Dillon Varsity game moved to Thursday at Waccamaw High
