Freewoods Farm plans to celebrate “50 Years of Change” on Feb. 15, with a farm tour, fish free lunch and a fireside chat.
The event begins at 10 a.m. with a tour of the farm, followed by an 11 a.m. fireside chat in the farmhouse with Kenneth L. McDowell, a farmer and longtime resident of the Burgess Community, who has seen nearly all of the changes in the past five decades.
Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m.
During the activities, sweet potatoes, sugar cane syrup and peanuts — all raised on the farm — will be for sale.
Admission to the event is $5 and the lunch is $8. Children 10 and under will be admitted for $3.
The working farm is at 9515 Freewoods Road.
