Wardell Patterson, Sr. age 73 of 204 Deep Creek Dr. Hemingway, SC
Pearlene Bromell, 66, of the Plantersville Community, Georgetown, SC, died on Wednesday, February 5, 2014.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Old Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bromell was born on November 8, 1947 in Georgetown, SC, a daughter of Harry Thompson, Sr. and Mrs. Florrie Dozier Thompson. She was educated in Georgetown County public school system and was a member of Old Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School and Bible Study teacher.
Survivors include, her husband, Leroy Bromell, Jr., Georgetown, SC; two daughters, Ms. Jacquiline Gasque and Ms. Harriett Bromell both of Georgetown, SC; two sons, Leroy Bromell III, Georgetown, SC and Christopher Charles Bromell, Fort Sill, OK; four sisters, Ms. Essie Greene, Ms. Eva Heyward, Ms. Vernell Gamble and Ms. Hattie Linnen, all of Georgetown, SC; two brothers, Harry Thompson, Jr. and Thomas Thompson, both of Georgetown, SC.
Funeral service arrangements are entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
James Harwood Call
James Harwood Call, age 83, died on February 6, 2014 after a brief illness in Charleston SC. He was born in Miami, FL, the son of Mary Alva Pent and Harwood Call; stepson of Rudolph E. Pent.
He graduated from Miami Edison High School and the University of Florida and served two years in the US Army as a commissioned officer. Jim also served in the US Army Reserves 14 years, retiring as a major.
Jim was a founding member of Leonard, Call and Associates in Myrtle Beach SC. After retiring to DeBordieu in Georgetown, SC. Jim enjoyed many years of traveling with his wife, Gretchen, throughout the US, Canada and Europe. He was an avid golfer and cherished spending time with his family.
Throughout Jim’s life he was a dedicated Christian who exemplified his faith in his work, his friendships, and by serving in the church and community.
For the last eleven years, Jim and Gretchen have resided at Franke at Seaside in Mount Pleasant, SC.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 57 years, Gretchen Rajib Call; daughters: Jenifer Call Edwards, (Robert) of Columbia, SC; Gavin Edwards Hendricksen (Chris) of Charlotte, NC; Alison Edwards Pearson (Ryan) of Columbia, SC; Julie Ann Call of Honolulu, HI; Emily Waugh Lindsay (Zach) of Charleston, SC; Caroline Waugh of Johns Island, SC; Jamie Call Blankinship (Joe) of High Point, NC; Joseph Blankinship of Winston-Salem, NC, Gretchen Call Blankinship of High Point,, NC; and 3 great-grandchildren. Brother and sister-in-law Kemal and Ann Rajib of Coral Gables FL; and their daughters Carol Rajib Donmez of Coral Springs, FL, and Nancy Rajib Mason of Valrico, FL.
The Family will receive friends Sunday, February 9th from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Rodenburg Chapel at Franke at Seaside, 1885 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464
Memorial service will be on Monday, February 10th at 2 p.m. in the Rodenburg Chapel.

Linen-Knox Funeral Home announces the funeral services for Demond Enrico Grant, age 29, of 4200 Hovis Road in Charlotte, N.C.; formerly of 4431 Pennyroyal Rd. in Georgetown, S.C. He died on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Carollina Medical Hospital in Charlotte, N.C.
Mr. Grant is the son of the late Mr. Charles Singleton and the late Mrs. Patricia Grant, both of Georgetown, S.C.
Funeral services for Mr. Grant will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Greater Gethsemane Baptist Church in the Sampit Community of Georgetown, S.C. with the Rev. James Brown Jr. presiding, and Rev. Henry Carter with Unity & Love Ministries Church of Charlotte, N.C. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The remains will lie in state in the sanctuary of the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
View will be held on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Linen-Knox Funeral Home.
Mr. Grant is survived by his special friend and three sisters. Special friend: Melissa Burton of Charlotte, N.C.; three sisters: Lakisa M. Grant of Andrews, S.C.; Mrs. Jacklynn S. Moore of Florence, S.C. and Mrs. Carolyn-Singleton-Grant of Atlanta, Ga.

Dorothy Proctor Layne Foxworth, 86, widow of Charles E. Foxworth, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on June 7, 1927, in Conway, she was a daughter of the late Clemson Proctor and the late Gussie Elnita Vaught Proctor. Mrs. Foxworth was a charter member of Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the L & M Bunn Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women and the Young at Heart Club. She was a graduate of Conway High School, Winthrop College and the Charlotte Memorial Hospital School of Laboratory Technology. Mrs. Foxworth was the Director of Laboratory Technology at Georgetown Memorial Hospital and retired after 32 years of service. She was a former member of SC Society of Medical Technologist, Colonial Dames of XVII Century and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include one son, Laurence C. Layne of St. Augustine, FL; one daughter, Eva L. Wicks (Jim) of Mt. Pleasant; one step-daughter, Jane F. Reavis (Rocky) of Conway; four grandchildren, Katie Wicks, Kyle Wicks, June Reavis and Wade Reavis; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Laurence H. “Larry” Layne; and two brothers, Dr. Eugene C. Proctor and Dr. Edward L. Proctor.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marie Knuckles officiating. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
