Motel 6 in Pawleys Island robbed; Suspect at large

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at Motel 6 located on Ocean Highway in the Pawleys Island.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. Thursday, the man walked in the motel and handed the clerk a note demanding money, said Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson.

The suspect did not brandish a weapon and fled the scene in a gray Toyota Corolla with an undetermined amount of cash.

The clerk was not injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5-foot-11- inches in height and weighing 160 pounds.

The suspect was wearing light blue shorts, a white hooded sweatshirt, a black beanie hat and sunglasses.

Anyone that can identify the suspect or has any information about the robbery is urged to call the Sheriff's Office at (843) 546-5101.
