Police Blotter: Teen saves mom during attack

A woman from Green Acres Mobile Home Park called 911 Jan. 25 and reported she was being assaulted by her 50-year-old boyfriend.

The dispatcher reported hearing an assault taking place while the woman was on the phone.

When the deputy arrived, the man was running out of the back of the house but he was quickly detained.

The man had the smell of alcohol and seemed confused about what was happening.

The woman said the suspect came in her house and “started a ruckus” and would not stop, the report states.

The woman’s teen son said the suspect took a swing at him but he was able to push him away.

The suspect then reportedly hit the woman and pushed her down so her son pulled the man off of her and then put him in a choke hold. The teen said he was trying to put the man to sleep, the report states. His mother told him to stop, which he did.

The man was arrested for assault and battery.

Man arrested for alleged threats

A woman from the Graves Station area said she and her boyfriend share her home and were arguing Jan. 24 and she told him to leave.

The woman said the 45-year-old man threatened to beat her so bad she would be unrecognizable.

The woman said she was in fear for her life.

The man denied making any threats but he made those statements before the deputies mentioned anything about threats.

He was arrested for criminal domestic violence.

Teen attacks man

A 25-year-old man from Bullard Road said he got into an argument with a 16-year-old boy and the altercation escalated.

He said he and his wife had a few friends over Jan. 26 to have a good time when he and his wife got into an argument.

The teen got involved and said got in the man’s face and shoved him. The teen then punched the man in the face several times, causing his eye to swell and busting his lip.

The teen got into a pickip truck and fled the area.

The man said he wanted to file charges.

Two condo burglaries

A deputy was sent to a condo on South Cove Place in Murrells Inlet because of a burglary Jan. 24 and while there he saw the neighboring unit had also been burglarized.

The owner of that condo was not located but the deputy noted it appeared a TV had been taken.

The original caller reported a TV was also missing from his condo.

There are no suspects.

Thousands in unauthorized charges

A 77-year-old Murrells Inlet man says someone stole his Well Fargo Bank information and made more than $4,000 in charges to his account.

The man said the suspect used his account number on fake checks.

The suspects may be from Columbia.

Vandal calls 911

Someone called 911 from the outdoors clubhouse phone at River condos in Murrells Inlet at about midnight Jan. 17. The caller hung up without saying anything. When the deputy arrived, he saw the phone off the hook and the window next to the phone was broken.

A shower nozzle and a light fixture for the pool was also broken.
