This was the scene at Morgan Park on Saturday as the marsh was filled with ice. Thanks to Claudia Howard Cribb for the photo. More ice, and maybe snow, is expected this week.

Today will be sunny and in the 50s - and it will be in the 60s Monday. But then, the polar vortex returns with a vengeance.

The National Weather Service is predicting a winter-weather mix starting Tuesday. If nothing changes, expect winter weather advisories to be issued later today or Monday.

Right now it looks like the precipitation may begin as light rain overnight Monday into early Tuesday. Then, as the next round of frigid air moves in Tuesday, it will likely switch over to a mix of sleet and then to snow by Tuesday afternoon.

In it's forecast discussion issued this morning, the National Weather Service says it is possible it could be all snow beginning around noon Tuesday and continue until sometime Wednesday.

So far, accumulation amounts are not being predicted.

The snow/sleet could continue into Wednesday evening.

We will keep you updated on any Georgetown County information as this possible weather event unfolds.
