Chris Sokoloski/Times Darius Williams, playing in the Beach Ball Classic last month, had 19 points to lead Carvers Bay to a 83-35 win over East Clarendon last week.

Carvers Bay outscored East Clarendon 35-2 in the first quarter en route to a 83-35 win last week.

Thirteen Bears recorded baskets in the game.

Darius Williams led Carvers By with 19 points, two rebounds and two steals. Arkel Williams had 11 points and three rebounds; Marquiese Goss had 10 points and five steals; Chris Carter had six points, four rebounds and two assists; Dary Goss had six points and eight rebounds; Terry Bromell had six points; Tirik Drayton had five points and two rebounds; Josh Canteen had five points and two steals; Eaddy Moore had five points and two rebounds; Norman Geathers had four points and two steals; Travell Grate had three rebounds; and Tyrek Reed had two rebounds and three assists.

Around the county

Georgetown lost 56-55 to St. James last week.

The Bulldogs led 10-8 at the end of the first quarter, and clung to a two-point lead at halftime.

St. James tied the score at the end of a high-scoring third quarter, and edged Georgetown in the fourth quarter.

DaeQuan Gibson led the Bulldogs with 17 points and two rebounds.

Cavonte Gamble had 12 points, two assists, two rebounds and two steals; Darrion Graham had nine points; Stepfon Cuttino had six points and nine rebounds; Michael Billings had six points, two assists, two rebounds and two steals; and Marquez Drayton and Sean Maybank had two steals each.

The Lady Bulldogs lost to the Lady Sharks 61-45.

Waccamaw lost to Loris 72-69 last week.

Rob Ferraro, Justin Busby and Jack Dwyer combined for 40 points. Dwyer had four rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two blocks; Ferraro had five rebounds; and Busby had three rebounds and two assists.

Jemon Smalls had nine points and two assists; Stephon Funnye had seven points; Justin Hardee had five points and two rebounds; and Deandre Richardson had three rebounds.

The Lady Warriors held the Lady Lions to just six second-half points en route to a 37-28 victory.

Alexis Grove had 12 points and eight steals; D’Avion Funnye had nine points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals; and Jazmyn Torrance had five points.

Andrews lost 62-57 to Kingstree last week. The Lady Yellow Jackets lost 69-39 to the Lady Jaguars.
