MarshWalk restaurants are set to put some of their best food and children’s activities on display Feb. 8 and 9 during the first Taste of the Marsh Walk.
The restaurants will offer some of their favorite foods, including sushi, local oysters, ribs, pasta and brick-oven pizzas at a $3 fee per dish, and there will be plenty of children’s activities, including face painting, bounce houses, stilt walkers and pirate boat tours.
In the evening, the restaurants — Wicked Tuna, Wahoo’s Fish House, Drunken Jack’s, Dockside, Dead Dog, Creek Ratz and Bovine’s — plan to offer drink specials.
During the day’s activities, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, there will be fishing and crabbing tips from the pros.
Also on tap are local artists, a classic car show and live music.
“We wanted to bring back some of the things that made the Inlet special,” said Charley Campbell, Dead Dog owner. “There used to be a seafood festival, and we wanted something that would offer that same type of old-fashioned fun.”
He added that the activities are aimed at families — something for people of all ages. “The only thing that may hurt is the weather,” he acknowledged, adding that the event will go on rain or shine.
