Gov. Nikki Haley will deliver her fourth State of the State address at 7 p.m. tonight to a joint session of the South Carolina General Assembly.

In a conference call with the Georgetown Times and other news outlets today, Haley said she will be celebrating the legislature’s approval of the bill establishing a Department of Administration.

“I am very excited for South Carolina and where I hope the legislature can go with this law,” she said.

She will talk about the economy, ethics reform and her education initiative.

“You don’t have success for no reason,” Haley said. “You have to work hard at it.”

She told the Times she believes the Department of Administration will help change perceptions of South Carolina, not just for residents but for people across the country.

“Carroll Campbell and every governor since then has been trying to make changes. We can show the General Assembly they can let go of some things and it will be good for the state.”

The State of the State address will be carried on SC ETV and many television stations.
