Three charged in connection with Andrews shooting and robbery

Three people have been charged in connection with the December 28 robbery and shooting that occurred at Tienda Mexiana at 403 East Main Street in Andrews.

Andrews Police Chief Joseph Cooper said Laurn Stcroix, 22, his brother Mario Stcroix, 25 and 19-year-old Jessica Prior were arrested in Maryland.

They were extradited and booked in the Georgetown County Detention Center Sunday.

Both men are charged with armed robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, attempted murder and possession of a deadly weapon during a violent crime.

Prior is charged with being an accessory after the fact of a felony.

Cooper said Andrews police received help from the U.S. Marshal Service in apprehending the three.

Cooper said authorities were able to reach out to Priorís mother which led to the arrests.

At about 7 p.m. Dec. 28, the men reportedly walked into the restaurant and demanded money. Cooper said the owner, who was at the cash register, was shot in the stomach during the robbery.

Cooper said the suspects fled on foot after the robbery but itís unknown if they had a car waiting.

As of Monday, the victim remained hospitalized in stable condition, Cooper said, and the business remains closed.

The three are awaiting bond hearings.
