A call from a concerned citizen resulted in the arrest of 47-year-old Gerald Anthony Greene Tuesday afternoon.

Georgetown County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson says the caller to 911 reported a suspicious vehicle parked next to a shed on Ruffin Court.

Deputies were told there was a burglary in progress.

“The victim confronted the suspect who fled the scene on

foot,” Cuthbertson said.

Greene – of McDonald Road - was found a short time later hiding in some bushes at a home on Sollie Circle. He was arrested without incident, Cuthbertson said.

She said he is charged with third degree burglary and possession of stolen property.
