The Georgetown USA/YMCA Wahoos grabbed third place at a USA Grand Prix Meet last weekend.

There were 29 personal best times set by the Wahoos 12 and under swimmers.

John Grey Crosby was too fast (11/12 USA state cut times) to swim in any events except the 50 breast, which he won and earned a state cut time in it.

Even though Crosby will be turning 13 before the State Meet he already has some times that qualify him with 13/14 state cut times.

Crosby has been working hard at practice with the coaches to improve his breaststroke and his hard work is paying off.

Michael Paglio, 11, had a great meet, winning three individual events and he has already earned several 11/12 USA State Cuts.

Other Georgetown swimmers finishing in the top fvie in their age groups were: Jackson Robino, Mia Paglio, Briar Long, Emma Sullivan and Chloe Kuenzle.

Top 10 finishers were: Abigail Condon, Edwin Lopez, Cameron Bonham, Hannan Mackey, Peyton Little and T.T. Tupacz.

The Georgetown Wahoos are hosting their first YMCA meet of the season Saturdayat 9:30 a.m. at the Georgetown County Family YMCA.

The YMCA teams attending this meet are: Beaufort, Summerville, Sumter and Hartsville. The Wahoos have 44 swimmers taking part in the meet.

Please come out and support your local swim team. The Wahoos’ next meet will be the North Myrtle Beach Riptides USA Meet on Jan. 18.
