After earlier announcing schools in the county would operate on a normal schedule Tuesday, District officials had a change of heart. The following statement was released at about 3:40 p.m. Monday:
Due to expected near record-low temperatures Tuesday morning, Georgetown County School District will operate on a two-hour delay for students. Buses will run two hours later than normal, and school classes will begin two hours later than normal.
However, schools will be open at their normal times for parents who need to drop off their children.
District employees will report to work at normal time.
