Thomas Moultrie Scholarship Committee honors former coach

Photo provided The Thomas Moultrie Scholarship Committee held its annual banquet on Dec. 27, at the former Choppee High School. This year, John Spears was honored for his accomplishment as a football coach and a teacher and Jackie Reed was honored for being a mentor, coach, and a role model for our youth football players in the community. A scholarship was awarded to a football player and a band member from Carvers Bay High School. Above are former football team members who played for Spears: Anthony Langley, Jackie Reed, Robert Mazone, Levon Matthews, Jonathan Guiles, Ervin “Blue Print” Parker. John Spears, Zack Grate, Cornelius Reed, Stanley Reed, and Richard Neal.
