Man dies while driving early Tuesday

  • Tuesday, December 31, 2013

A 61-year-old Georgetown man died while he was driving in the City of Georgetown early Tuesday. Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson said the man was driving on Bourne Street when he suffered a heart attack. The man's car struck a vacant office complex in the 1500 block of Bourne Street, next to Georgetown Kraft Credit Union, causing minor damage. A police report identifies the driver as Wyman Linnen of Congdon Street. Because Linnen died of natural causes, the incident is not being counted as a traffic fatality, Johnson said.
