Tucker leaving Chamber of Commerce for county job

  • Wednesday, December 11, 2013

Brian Tucker has announced he is leaving his position as president of the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce.

In a memo to Chamber members released today, it was stated Tucker has accepted an offer to serve as the Director of Economic Development for Georgetown County.

“Although we are sad for the loss to the Chamber, we are excited and encouraged about the new role Brian will be taking. We were aware that he was being considered for the position and encouraged him to apply,” the letter from the board of directors states. “Brian understands the power of working together toward a common goal, and we are excited about the future of Georgetown County. With us all working together there is so much that can be accomplished. Brian will continue to work with the Chamber and provide a smooth transition until we can replace him.”

Tucker takes over the position vacated by Wayne Gregory earlier this year.
