Flora Deas

Flora Mae Deas, age 74, of the Plantersville section of Georgetown, died on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Deas will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 at St. Paul AME church, conducted by Rev. Ruben Smalls.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.
Mrs. Deas was born on Oct. 11, 1939 a daughter of Mr. Walter Green and Mrs. Kate Grier Green (both deceased).
Survivors include her children, Marvin Dease, and Gardner Dease, both of Conway, S.C., Alton Dease, Michael Dease, Bryan Dease, Lawrence Dease, Theresa Dease, and Melsetta Dease, all of Georgetown, and Katrina Dease of Charlotte, N.C.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home.

Anne Klouman

Anne M. Klouman, age 89, died on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at her home in Pawleys Island.
She was born in California on Jan. 8, 1924 to Martin and Anne Richardson McHale.  
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerhard H. Klouman, whom she married in January 1950.  
She is survived by her son, Robert G. Klouman and his wife Kim of Ohio; a daughter, Anne K. Stone and her husband Jeffrey; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Andrew, both of Michigan; sisters Alexandra M. Rambo of Pennsylvania and Marcia M. Dunn of Pawleys Island; and a nephew, Tim Dunn of Pawleys Island.  
Memorials may be made in her name to Tidelands Hospice of Georgetown, South Carolina.

Robert Withers

Robert Walter Withers, age 77, of Pawleys Island, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013.
He was born in Columbia, S.C. on Jan. 31, 1936.
His parents were Robert Walter Withers III and Grace Withers Goudelock.
After graduating from Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn. and from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, he served three years as an officer in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Withers was employed by IBM Corporation in marketing and management for 32 years.
Upon retirement he started Panini North America, a document processing subsidiary of Italy’s Panini SpA, and served as president in Dayton, Ohio, then as a director.
He loved coastal South Carolina and returned permanently in 2003, where he pursued enthusiastically his wide range of interests, including history, geography, travel, and cultural events.  
Also, Mr. Withers actively supported the Pawleys Island community and thoroughly enjoyed, protected, and enhanced its environment.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Anne Pollard Withers; a son, Robert Walter Withers Jr. of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Sara Withers Franco and son-in-law, Joseph James Franco; a grandson, Joshua and granddaughter Julia, both of Falls Church, Va.; a sister, Margaret Withers Allen and brother-in-law, J. William Allen; nieces, Kathleen Allen Hamrick and Christine Elizabeth Allen.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013 at Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church, 113 Baskerville Drive (corner of U.S. 17) in Pawleys Island.
Mr. Withers will be buried in the Withers family plot in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk, Va.
