Two men are on the run after an early morning home invasion and the Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in locating them.
According to Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson, at about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday morning, two black males entered a home on Bessellieu Drive in the North Santee Community through a back door.
A woman who lives at the residence told deputies she had put her three kids to bed and she and her husband were watching a movie when she heard “an odd noise” coming from outside.
Shortly after midnight she heard a loud “bang” on the door and then saw the two men who had busted in. The men identified themselves by yelling “police,” the report states.
The male victim “jumped off the couch and was immediately met with a large gun in his face,” the report states.
One of the men grabbed the woman by the hair and threw her on the floor.
The suspects reportedly tried to tie the man’s hands behind his back with a phone charging cable but never managed to get it tied. They also tied the woman’s hands.
Because the house was dimly lit, the couple could not see what was going on but they heard the men going through the house yelling to be told where the money was located. The men claimed they knew money was stashed in the house. They were told by the couple the only money in the house was in their pockets.
The men threatened to hurt one of the children - who were sleeping during the ordeal - unless he told them where they could find more money.
The men then forced one of the children - a teen - out of the bedroom at gunpoint and once again demanded cash. When the man said he did not have any money stashed and would not risk his son’s life, the suspects “seemed to believe him” and they left the house. The men left in a vehicle after using a breaker box to turn the electricity off in the house.
The first suspect is described as a black male, mid-thirties in age, 6’0” in height, medium build and a darker complexion. The second suspect is described as a black male, mid-20s, shorter in height than the first suspect, and wearing faded blue jeans with white lettering on the back and a pair of green, grey and black Nike Bo Jackson shoes.
Anyone that can identify the suspects or has any information about the robbery is urged to call the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 546-5101.
