Firefighters battle Sampit house fire

  • Tuesday, November 5, 2013

Georgetown County firefighters were called to this house fire on Saints Delight Road this morning. The house is across from BB Smith's store. Details about what started the fire are currently not known. County Assistant Fire Chief Tony Hucks says preliminary information he has received indicate a a man and his wife were asleep in the single story home a little before 7 a.m. when a passerby stopped to let them know the house was on fire. Hucks said the couple made it out of the house but it's believed they may have lost two pets. More details will be released when available. Thank you to Lindsay Stover for providing the photos.
