Murrells Inlet man pleads guilty to solicitation of a minor

A 24-year-old Murrells Inlet man was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to criminal solicitation of a minor.
Michael John Bourque Jr. entered the plea Thursday in Circuit Court.
He was arrested by the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office in July, 2012.
Bourque used an Internet website ad to solicit sex from an individual he believed to be a minor child, according the S.C. Attorney General’s Office. The warrants say Bourque engaged in sexual conversations before making arrangements and then traveling to meet an individual he believed to be a child.
His arrest was part of an ongoing investigation effort by the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
Bourque was sentenced to six years which was suspended to one year in prison followed by five years probation.
He must also register as a sex offender for life.
