Bi-Lo Holdings, LLC (“Bi-Lo Holdings”), parent company of BI-LO and Winn-Dixie grocery stores, announced its acquisition of 22 stores in South Carolina and coastal Georgia from Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company, Inc. (“Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company”) is scheduled to close on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013. Following the transaction close, Bi-Lo Holdings will begin the process of rebranding these stores under the BI-LO banner name.
Bi-Lo Holdings also will acquire the Piggly Wiggly store located at 4430 Highway 17 Bypass in Murrells Inlet. This store also will close on Nov. 9 and reopen as a BI-LO store on Nov. 15. This store is in addition to the Piggly Wiggly stores that were announced on Sept. 12.
The Piggly Wiggly store located at 115 Willbrook Boulevard in Pawleys Island will close temporarily on or before Nov. 9 to undergo a BI-LO renovation that is estimated to last approximately three to four months.
During this time, customers are invited to shop at the existing BI-LO store located at 14427 Ocean Highway.
Upon completion of the Willbrook Boulevard renovation, the existing BI-LO at Ocean Highway will close permanently, leaving the newly renovated BI-LO on Willbrook Boulevard open for business.
Associates at the Willbrook Boulevard and Ocean Highway locations will be able to pursue other open positions in nearby stores and will be provided with resources to guide them through the transition process.
Bi-Lo Holdings, LLC, is the parent company of BI-LO and Winn-Dixie grocery stores.
