The 3rd annual Georgetown Bridge2Bridge Half Marathon, 12K and 5K will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013.
The beautiful, historic, and charming seaport city of Georgetown offers runners an event that showcases all of the unique features that make this town an interesting coastal community.
Proceeds from this event will benefit The Georgetown County United Way, The Georgetown Business Association, and the Iota Tau Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Scholarship Fund.
Packet pickup will be available on Friday, Oct. 11, between 5 and 8 p.m. at the Quality Inn & Suites (near the Pee Dee River Bridge).
Race day registration will be available at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, in front of the Strand Theater near the starting line.
The Historic Bridge2Bridge Run will have "Bridge the Gap" T-shirts available at packet pick-up and on race day.
All proceeds from T-shirts will be donated to the Front Street Fire Relief Fund.
The race will start at the Town Clock at the intersection of Front Screven streets at 7:30 a.m.
Bil Krauss will provide musical entertainment at 9 a.m. at Francis Marion Park at Front and Broad streets.
Awards ceremonies will be held at Francis Marion Park. Awards for the 5K will be at 9:30 a.m.; awards for the 12K will be at 10 a.m.; and awards for the half marathon will be at 10:30 a.m.
YMCA Kid's Fun Run
There will be a YMCA Kid's Fun Run starting at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $5 per child. Parents accompanying are free.
Strollers are welcome.
The race for children 6 years old and younger will be 100 yards, from east of the Rice Museum store to the Strand Theater.
The race for children 7 to 12 years old will be a quarter mile from Broad Street to Prince Street to Screven Street and a final right on Front Street where they will cross this finish line in front of the Strand Theater.
Register at the Georgetown County United Way before race day; at packet pick-up on Friday, Oct. 11, at the Quality Inn; or at Francis Marion Park on race day.
