Susan Harrelson

Susan Owens Harrelson, 85, widow of Leland Saltas Harrelson, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Born on May 20, 1928, in Hemingway, she was the daughter of the late Samuel A. Owens and the late Vendel O. Owens.
Mrs. Harrleson was a member of Ringel Heights Baptist Church and attended several local churches, most recently Screven Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Deborah Sunday school class.
Survivors include three children, Alice Faye Carl (Joe), Donnie Harrelson (Jennifer) and Teresa Christian (James), all of Georgetown; five grandsons, Allen Carl (Leslie) and Steven Carl (Lisa), both of Georgetown, Matt Carl (Shay) of Columbia, S.C., Derik Harrelson (Susan) of Georgetown and Dustin Harrelson (Christy) of Green Sea, S.C.; and six great-grandchildren, John Allen Carl, Kay-Kay Carl, Tyler Carl, Leland Carl, Devan Harrelson and Maddie Harrelson, all of whom will dearly miss her.
She was preceded in death by a great grandson, Christopher Carl; and a brother, Lamar Owens.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at Screven Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Williams and Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Graham Funeral Home.

Shirley Payne

Shirley Jean Peake Payne, age 61, of West Columbia, S.C. died on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013.
Born in Columbia, S.C. on December 15, 1951, she was a daughter of Barbara Shelley Peake and the late Raymond William Peake Sr.
Mrs. Payne worked as a hairstylist at Belk’s Department Store and was a member of Jackson Creek Baptist Church.
She was also a breast cancer survivor.
Left behind to cherish her memory are a daughter, Kelsey Teal of Columbia; her mother of West Columbia; a brother, Raymond “Bo” Peake Jr. of Elgin, S.C.; sisters, Sandra (Eddie) Williams of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and Glenda (John) Cook of Elgin; several nieces and nephews, including Tabitha and Chevy Peake; and a great-nephew, C.J. Peake.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at Jackson Creek Baptist Church, 7778 Two Notch Road, Columbia, with the Rev. Dr. Walter Mack Burriss officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will recieve friends at the church prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m..

Caffie Sutton

Caffie Gilliard Sutton of McClellanville, S.C. passed away on Oct. 7, 2013.  
She was married to Edward Sutton and together had two children; Adrienne Sutton and Ashana Sutton.  
Mrs. Sutton worked as an educator in the school system and retired in 2011.  
She was a wonderful and loving person.  
She will be greatly missed.
There will be no funeral service, only a private family gathering.
