Ellen Cahill

Ellen Martha Bryans Cahill, age 91, widow of Jerry M. Cahill, passed away on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born on Oct. 21, 1921, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Frank Willis Bryans and the late Sarah Berney Cahill.
Mrs. Cahill was a member of Prince George, Winyah Episcopal Church and the Women of Wedgefield group.
She was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include five children, Jerry Cahill (Bonnie) of Martinez, Calif., Bruce Cahill of New Lebanon, N.Y., Sarah Cahill of Georgetown, Brian Cahill (Joann) of Bristol, Conn. and Chris Cahill of Georgetown; 15 grandchildren, Sean, Matthew, Rebecca, Lisa, Steven, David, Daniel, Richard, Jonathan, Melissa, Tabitha, Toy, Joseph, Benjamin and Joshua; nine great-grandchildren, Jordan, Rachel, Zoey, Aria, Matthew, Mathias, Gavyn, Bradley and Ella; and a sister, Winifred Denny of Buffalo, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Cahill; one brother, Willis Bryans; and one sister, Margaret Drake.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at Prince George, Winyah Episcopal Church.

George Fraser

George Fraser, age 52, of the St. Luke Community of Georgetown, died on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at Tidelands Hospice House of Georgetown.
Mr. Fraser was a son of the late Deacon Willie and the late Deaconess Marie Fraser, both of the St. Luke Community of Georgetown.
Survivors include his six sisters, Mrs. Willie Mae Weston and Evangelist Margaret Pittman, both of the St. Luke Community of Georgetown, Evangelist Fannie Lee of Hemingway, Gloria Gulley of Sioux Falls, S.D., Cathleen Davis of Andrews, and Mrs. Evelina Mitchell of Hemingway; one brother, Willie James Fraser of Windsor Conn.; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Fraser were held on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church where Rev. Michele Singletary officiated the service.
Burial followed in the St. Luke Church cemetery.
A viewing service for Mr. Fraser was held from 3  to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at Linen Knox Funeral Home Chapel on 1632 Emanuel Street in Georgetown.
Friends and family may call or visit the home of Brother James and Evangelist Margaret Pittman on 176 Lumberton Drive in the St. Luke Community of Georgetown at 843-546-7633.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Linen-Knox Funeral Home.

Larry James

Larry James, age 47, of Georgetown died on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at Tidelands Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 10, 2013 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.
Burial will follow at Morning Glory Cemetery.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the chapel.
Mr. James was born on Oct. 18, 1965, a son of Marlene Player-Nelson and Vander Davis. He was employed with Sparkman Roofing.
Survivors include his mother, Marlene Nelson of Georgetown; father, Vander Davis of Morrisville, S.C.; four sisters, Patricia Sparkman, Vernetta Rush, and Priscilla Armstrong, all of Georgetown, and Tiffany Davis of Andrews; two brothers, Keith Rush of Titusville, Fla., and Kevin Davis of Atlanta, Ga.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.

Frances Moree

Frances Anne Howard Moree, age 82, of Georgetown, the wife of Logan Harris Moree Sr., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013.
Mrs. Moree was born a daughter of Bailey Ward Howard and May Belle Bone Howard on November 9, 1930 in Georgetown.  
She was a 1947 graduate of Winyah High School.
She was a retired employee of South Carolina National Bank and was a member of the Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church.  
Like the red and yellow roses she grows as part of her garden, the gentle gracious and beautiful fragrance of her life shall ever fill the hearts of her family.  
Mrs. Moree committed her life to acts of selfless giving for her family, and an unconditional love to earn her the distinguished title – Beloved Mother.
Frances and Harris were married on Dec. 25, 1952 and celebrated 60 years together.  
Their home was blessed with three sons, Logan H. (Brenda) Moree Jr., Stephen H. (Mona) Moree, and Geoffrey E. (Vickie) Moree; five grandchildren, Stacie Moree, Keith Moree, L. Patrick (Heather) Moree, Stephen (Erika) Moree Jr., and Christopher Moree; and five great-grandchildren, Nathan, Amaya, Kaidence, Landen, and Evan.  
Mrs. Moree also leaves behind two sisters, Reba Mae H. Ard and Shirley H. (Carl) Sylvester; and a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Norwood “Naughty” Howard and Bailey Ward “BW” Howard Jr.; and a sister, Mable “T-tiny” Howard.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at Prince George Winyah Episcopal Church.  
Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, directed by the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening, Oct. 8, 2013 at the Georgetown Chapel.

Wadene “Penny” Shaw

Wadene “Penny” Plummer Shaw, age 89, of Georgetown, widow of Pressley E. Shaw, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at her residence.
Mrs. Shaw was born in Sioux City, Iowa on June 14, 1924, a daughter of the late Henry Earl Plummer and Beulah Jeannette Rummel Plummer, and graduated from high school there.  
She then moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked at the Pentagon.  
After her marriage in 1944, Mrs. Shaw moved to Georgetown to live.  
She was a retired employee of the Woodlands Division of International Paper Company.  
Mrs. Shaw was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church and the Susanna Wesley Church School Class.
Surviving are a son, John E. Shaw (Thomasina) of Georgetown; a daughter, Susan S. Peterson (Keith) of Georgetown; two granddaughters, Tina M. Shaw of Little River and Gideon M. Perritt of Georgetown; and a sister, Patricia Farnham of Iowa.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday afternoon, Oct. 7, 2013, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.  
Officiating was the Rev. Dr. Dora Gafford.
Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery Annex.
