Theodis Murphy, 78, of Silver Spring, MA


Dorothy Grier

Dorothy Grier, 85, of the Plantersville Community, Georgetown, SC, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 in Georgetown, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2011 at St. Paul AME Church, Plantersville Community, with burial following in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Grier was born on March 26, 1926 in Georgetown County, SC to Albert Windley and Mrs. Irene Myers Windley.
She was employed by Conway Nursing Home and private homes as a housekeeper and laundress.
Mrs. Grier was a member of St. Paul AME Church, where she served† on† the Usher Board and Stewardess Board No. 3.
She was the widower of Woodrow Wilson Grier.
Survivors include his children, Woodrow Grier, Henry Grier Floyd Grier, Alice Grier Wilson, Sana Faye Grier, Albertha Grier and Azalea Grier Keith, all of Georgetown, SC and Dorothy Erkard of New Haven, CT; one sister, Rebecca Green of Georgetown, SC; 37 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Betty Scott

Betty Ann Scott, 74, of 231 Howell Street, Andrews, SC departed this life Monday, June 20, 2011 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held, Friday June 24, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Andrews with Rev. Robert Lane, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Church Cemetery under the direction of McKnight-Fraser Funeral Home.

Visitation was Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the W. J. McKnight & Son Chapel in Andrews, SC.
Ms. Scott, a daughter of the late Fredrick Scott and Henrietta Reed Scott George was born February 18, 1937 in Andrews, SC.
She received her education in the Georgetown County Public Schools.
She was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Gospel Choir.
Survivors are her daughters, Brenda S. Brown-Verner of Andrews, SC, Jacqueline Wneglass of Columbia, SC, her son Rev. Victor Scott; her sisters, Mary Smalls, Carolyn Scott, and Josephine Scott, all of Andrews, SC, and Mary Etta Scott of Augusta, GA.; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
