Janice Ford

Janice D. Ford, 46, of Charlotte, NC generally known as “Niecy” and formerly of Georgetown, SC, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Levine & Dickerson Hospice House, Huntersville, NC.
Funeral services for Ms. Ford will be held at noon on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Mt. Zion AME Church, North Santee Community, Georgetown, SC.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Ford was born June 11, 1964 in Georgetown County, SC to  Mr.  Eddie Greene and Mrs. Louise Johnson Williams.
She attended Georgetown County public schools, Bauder Fashion College in Atlanta, GA and Empire Beauty School in Charlotte, NC.
She worked for a number  of years in the retail industry.
Since early youth she was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church.
Survivors include her husband, Alfred Ford; her son, Shawn Alvin Mitchell of Charlotte, NC; two step-children, Afton Jones and Alquan Ford, both of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Glendora Davis of Denmark, SC and Lucinda Franklin of Georgetown, SC; eight brothers, Luke Duncan of Garland, NC, Eddie Johnson, Jr. of Augusta, GA, Ronald Johnson of Georgetown, SC, Donald Johnson of Georgetown, SC, Jody Green, Nathaniel Greeen, Wade Green  and Chipper Green all of Manhattan, NY.
Family visitation will be held 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.
Funeral service arrangements are entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.

Maudest Green

Maudest Green of 291 Genesis Drive, Georgetown, SC 29440 died Saturday, March 12, 2011 at her home.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, march 18, 2011 at Friendship St. Mary AME Church, directed by Linen-Knox Funeral Home of Georgetown.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Green was born on March 7, 1923 in Georgetown, the daughter of Mrs. Susan Johnson.
She attended Georgetown County schools and was a housewife.
She was a member of Friendship St. Mary AME Church.
Surviving are seven daughters, Thelma G. Spears, Mattie Green, Carrie Green, Sadie Green and Debbie L. Green, all of Georgetown, SC, Susan Green of New Haven, Conn. and Genetha Green of Greensboro, NC; four sons, William D. Green of Orlando, Fla., Edward Green of Richmond, Va., Richard Green of New York, NY and Lee Wilson Green of Conway, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Michael Murray
 
Michael Murray, 45, of Myrtle Beach, SC died Monday, March 14, 2011 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC.
Funeral services for Mr. Murray will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Bethel AME Church, Georgetown, SC.
Burial will follow in Morning Glory Cemetery, Pennyroyal Rd., Georgetown, SC.
Mr. Murray was born  January 22, 1966 in Georgetown County, SC to  Mr. Larry Murray and Mrs. Queenie Knox Murray.
He attended Georgetown County public schools.
Mr. Murray worked as a drywall finisher with Rex Murray Drywall Finishing Company.
He was a member of Brown Chapel UME Church.
Survivors include his wife, Amy Murray of Myrtle Beach, SC; his mother, Queenie Murray of Virginia; two sons, Michael Mitchum of Virginia and Rashad Murray of Andrews, SC; four daughters, Shalanda Murray and Shavanda Murray of Andrews, SC, Makela Scarbrough and Simone Scarbrough of Myrtle Beach, SC; two brothers, Lawrence Murray of Virginia and Reginald Murray of Charlotte, NC; and one grandson, Codi Chandler of Andrews, SC.
Family visitation will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.
Funeral service arrangements are entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
