Carvers Bay is region champ
Wednesday, February 9, 2011
Carvers Bay boys basketball won their region championship Tuesday night. The team went on the road to defeat Green Sea-Floyds 92-60. Meanwhile, Georgetown's boys won at home over Myrtle Beach 59-43. The Bulldogs will face the region 5 winner in play-offs next week. Carvers Bay's Tyrone Brown got the schools' first-ever triple double. He scored 14 points, got 10 rebounds and had 13 assists. He also was 10-for-11 from the free throw line. In Georgetown's game, since they won and North Myrtle Beach won against Socastee, that puts Georgetown in the play-offs, coach "Stitch" Walker said.
