The National Guard began cleaning up the water behind the site of the Front Street fire in Georgetown on Thursday morning. The Guardsmen used heavy equipment to scoop debris out of the bay and drop it into Dumpsters. Traces of asbestos found in the debris have stopped the cleanup on land. Georgetown Fire Chief Joey Tanner said SLED has not issued its findings on what caused the fire yet.
