Logan Cox has worn the crown of “Little Miss Georgetown County” for just a few weeks, but she's doing her home county proud.
At 9 years old, the daughter of Heather and Willie Cox of Andrews is teaching older people about caring for others.
When she heard about the fire in Georgetown two weeks ago that destroyed businesses, made some people homeless and where some pets died, she wanted to help.
“She started a project called Logan's Baskets of Love,” her mom Heather  said. “She made up baskets for the families who lost their homes and delivered them to the GKCU to be given to the families.”
On Saturday, Logan and her two cousins — Allison Sanchez, 13 and Abby Cox, 8 — had a bake sale in front of Joy Filled Books and Gifts.
“She's really excited,” Heather Cox said.
The girls raised $310 with the bake sale. On Monday they went by Georgetown Kraft Credit Union (GKCU) and donated the money to the Fire Relief Fund for the Front Street families, workers and businesses.
Logan Cox and Abby Cox both go to school at Williamsburg Academy in Kingstree. Allison Sanchez goes to Rosemary Middle School in Andrews.
