Georgetown County Clerk of Court Alma White, left, reads a plaque honoring longtime employee Wanda Cribb, who retired on Friday.

Friends and co-workers of Wanda Cribb gathered Friday at the Georgetown County Courthouse to bid her farewell.
Cribb is retiring as the common pleas court coordinator after 14 years of service, Cribb said she will miss her boss, Clerk of Court Alma White, the staff, the public, attorneys, judges, paralegals and her other colleagues.
“We have a wonderful county and this has been a great group of people to work with,” Cribb said. “They helped me to grow and challenged me to become better at my job.”
She added that the Clerk of Court office has been an extension of her family.
As common pleas court coordinator, Cribb was responsible for preparing dockets, working with judges and attorneys, swearing in witnesses, reading verdicts, and handling all filings for civil cases.
White, who has served as Georgetown County Clerk of Court for 12 years, said Cribb has been an outstanding employee.
“Court has a number of challenges and Wanda always rose to the occasion and put the fires out,” White said.
“She has earned respect because of the work she has done.”
Cindy P. Howard, family court supervisor for the county, said Cribb has been very dedicated to her job.
“She lived and breathed it,” Howard said. “When problems arose, she didn’t stop until she found an answer.”
She said Cribb will be greatly missed at the office.
“She is very well liked. Wanda is not only a co-worker but a great friend,” Howard said. “The county has truly lost an asset.”
Cribb said in retirement she plans to spend more time with her family and devote time to the ministry at her church, Georgetown Church of God.
Cribb’s family includes her husband, Wesley Cribb; her sons, David Cribb, his wife Stephanie and their son, Gage, and Wes Cribb, his wife Helen and their daughter, Ashlyn; and her daughter, Dana Edenfield and her sons, Dylan and Grayson.
