Marion Charles Grimsley, 89, of Lexington, S.C. died at the Presbyterian Home in Lexington, SC, June 18, 2012.
Graveside services was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Florence, S.C.
Mr. Grimsley was born in Mars Bluff, SC, the son of Charles Hezekiah and Lily Bailey Grimsley.
He was the widower of Martha Thorpe Grimsley and Mary Smith Grimsley.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Surfside Beach.
Mr. Grimsley retired from Tomlinson Warehouse Sales where he was a store manager and served on the Board of Directors.
He served in the US Army in the 11th Airborne Unit as a part of the 457th Field Artillery in the Pacific Arena during World War II.
He was a member of the Indiantown Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his wives and parents, Mr. Grimsley was predeceased by four siblings, Beverly Irene Isgett, Elizabeth Rivers, Annie Ruth Woodham, and James Haulford Grimsley.
He is survived by his son, Alan Grimsley, and his wife, Janina, of Columbia, SC; his daughters, Charla Tindall, and her husband, Rhett, of Georgetown, SC; and Annette Craig, and her husband, Don, of Easley, SC; six grandchildren, Adrienne Grimsley, Alyssa Colchin and her husband, Roger, Grayson Tindall, Trenton Tindall, Kim West and her husband, Tim, and Leigh Russell and her husband, Andy; three great-grandchildren, Maddie West, Savannah West and Benjamin Russell; brothers, Ernest and his wife, Margaret Grimsley and David and his wife, Pat Grimsley and a sister-in-law, Betty Grimsley, all of Florence and by many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home of Florence is assisting the family.

Master Reice Whitfield Poston of Hemingway, S.C. gained his heavenly wings on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at McLeod Regional Hospital.
Master Poston was born the son Benjamin “Benji” Patrick Poston and Sabre Winter Whitfield Poston on May 30, 2012 in Florence.
He is now the Guardian Angel to: his siblings, Rivers Ethan Poston, Reegan Hayes Poston, Ryland Allen Poston, Raeleigh Larkyn Poston, and Reid Saylor Poston; his maternal grandparents, Susan (Johnny) Todd and Walter Skip (Shirley) Whitfield, and his paternal grandparents, David (Renee) Poston.
Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

Margaret “Peggy” Urtz
Margaret Mary “Peggy” Urtz (nee Gallela), 59, of Havertown, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 after a courageous battle against anaplastic thyroid cancer.
Peggy was born in Vineland, N.J. and raised in Malaga, N.J.
While working and caring for her family she earned her Master’s degree in Education.
Peggy taught special education students for 13 years at Overbrook School for the Blind, where she was loved by all.
She used her boundless energy to teach her students and care for her family, incuding her mother for five years before her mother passed, her special needs son, her other two boys, and her devoted husband.
Peggy enjoyed the arts and loved to read, but the source of her true joy was the hapiness of others.
She was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Eleanor Gallela.
Her memory will live through her college sweetheart and husband of 37 years, Gary; her three sons, John, Alan and Michael; her brother, Carl Gallela (Barbara); her mother-in-law, Jean Urtz; her sisters-in-law, Jeanie Dailey and Lynn Berry (Michael); her brothers-in-law, Larry Urtz (Kathy) and Bruce Urtz (Patti); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to offer their condolences from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, followed by her funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Manoa, Manoa and Shelbourne Roads, Havertown, PA 19083.
Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Peggy’s memory may be made to Special Olympics Delaware County, 307 Lenox Road, Havertown, PA 19083.
