James Lambert

James LaBrue Lambert of the St. Delight community in Georgetown County, S.C. died at home on Sunday, February 24, 2013, after a long illness.
LaBrue was born on May 20, 1930, to the late Dewey Ruice Lambert and Bertha Kennedy Lambert.
He was a graduate of Andrews High School and was a member of St. Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to farming, he retired after 42 years from International Paper Company and also served for 41 years in the S.C. Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Drew Lambert; and four children, Sharon (Billy) Strickland, Doris (Mike) Anderson, Jimmy (Tame’) Lambert, and Dewey (Jackie) Lambert.
He was “Pappy” to nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by a sister, Rachel Mills of Lugoff; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Ruice Lambert; and an infant sister.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.on Monday, February 25, 2013 at St. Delight P.H. Church.
Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Lambert and Rev. Chris Browder, will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at St. Delight P.H. Church.
Interment with military honors will follow at Holmes Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Delight P.H. Women’s Ministry, 8285 St. Delight Rd., Andrews, SC or to Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 N. Fraser St., Georgetown, SC.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Tidelands Hospice, Brooke Howard, and Lillie Johnson for their in-home care.

Dr. Michael Stortz Jr.

Dr. Michael James Stortz Jr., 78, of Pawleys Island died Friday, February 22, 2013 at Tidelands Hospice House.
Born in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Michael and Victoria Stortz.  
Dr. Stortz was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War.  
He received his degree in chemistry from John Carroll University and later his medical degree from Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University in Chicago.  
Dr. Stortz served his community as an Anesthesiologist with Georgetown Memorial Hospital, working mainly in pain management for the last 10 years.   
Dr. Stortz attended Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Patsy Stortz of Pawleys Island; sons, Michael J. Stortz III and wife, Valerie Pearce of San Francisco, Calif. and John M. Stortz of Brooklyn, N.Y.; daughters, Dr. Mary Cox and husband Jeff of Lilburn, Ga., Laurie Furse and husband, Richard of Mooresville, N.C., Lisa Kerns and husband Sean of Cary, N.C. and Amy Swanson and husband Scott of Blythewood, S.C.; stepson, Brian Marshall of Tucker, Ga.; step daughter, Melanie Green and husband Royce of Myrtle Beach; 12 grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church.  
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Pawleys Island Chapel.
