Billy Ray Coker, 75, died at home on Monday August 5, 2013.
Billy was predeceased by his parents and brother Tommy.
Survivors include his wife Slyvia, children Benjie (Brook); Glen (Sandy) and Katie Coker; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers Robbie J. and Harry E. Coker and an uncle Ralph Coker.
Visitation was held from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 with a memorial service following at Grand Strand Funeral Home and Crematory.

Mr. Arthur Bernard Kennedy, 77, of 234 Mercer Street in the Greentown section of Georgetown, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 at Tideland Community Hospice in Georgetown.
Mr. Kennedy was the husband of Mrs. Hestell Kennedy of the Greentown section of Georgetown. Survivors include his loving wife, Mrs. Hestell Kennedy; one daughter, Mrs. Bernardine Kennedy; one son, Renard Kennedy all of the Greentown section of Georgetown. One sister; Mrs. Kimsee Kennedy of New York. NY. And a host of loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 3 p.m.- 5 p.m. at Linen-Knox Funeral Home Chapel on 1632 Emanuel Street in Georgetown.
Funeral services for Mr. Kennedy will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Church on 417 Broad Street in Georgetown.
The Rev. Dr. Sharmaine Reagan, pastor will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The remains will lie in state in the sanctuary of the church from 1 p.m. unto the hour of service.
Dr. Robert McGrath
Dr. Robert William McGrath, 86, of Georgetown, S.C., died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at his residence.
Dr. McGrath was born on Jan. 31, 1927 in New York City, NY, a son of the late John Francis McGrath, Lillian Nicholson McGrath.
He graduated from Regis High School in 1944 and served in the U S Army during W. W. II from 1944 until 1946, attaining the rank of infantry staff sargent.
Dr. McGrath graduated from Cornell University and New York Medical College, and did a rotating internship from 1954 to 1955 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City.
He served his general surgical residency from 1955 to 1959 at Veterans’ Administration Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Dr. McGrath received certification from the American Board of Surgery, General Surgery, A. C. L. S.., 1990.
Dr. McGrath received appointments as attending surgeon, St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center of New York, clinical assistant professor, New York Medical College, Vahalla, Attending and consulting surgeon, Mary Manning Walsh Home, New York, chief of surgery, Mary Manning Walsh Home, and attending surgeon at Beekman downtown New York City.
Dr. McGrath was predeceased by his step-mother, Inez Thorpe McGrath.
He is survived by his wife, Helena G. McGrath of Georgetown; three sons, Alex McGrath (Susan) of Richmond, Va., C. Joaquin Samper (Maria) of Moscow, Russia, and Robert McGrath of New York; a daughter, Mary Jane McGrath of New York; a brother, Rev. Edward McGrath of India; and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services were private. Officiating was the Rev. Ronald J. Farrell.

Carol Powers Prosser, 75, widow of Elbert Percy Prosser Jr., passed away on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Born on Jan. 31, 1938, in Georgetown County, she was a daughter of the late Dewey Powers and the late Lila Marsh Powers.
Mrs. Prosser was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two children, William Clay Prosser (Sarah Grainger) and Dawn Prosser Elliott (Eric Hemeon) all of Georgetown; seven grandchildren, William Clay Prosser Jr., Joshua Robert Elliott, Abigayle Brooke Elliott, Catherine Elizabeth Grainger, Madeline Elise Grainger, Kelsea Ann Hemeon and Tara Nicole Hemeon; one brother-in-law, Robert Driggers of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Elbert Percy “Eb” Prosser; two sisters, Louise Driggers and Bertha Martin; and one brother, Dewey Powers.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
