Dottie Barnhill

Dottie A. Barnhill, age 82, of Hemingway, S.C., widow of the late Dudley J. Barnhill, Jr., passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Born June 12, 1930, in Hemingway, Mrs. Barnhill was the daughter of the late Bethel Avant and the late Bertie Cribb Avant.
Dottie was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and growing flowers. She was a homemaker who took great joy and pride in her family.
Survivors include her children, Dudley J. “Joey” Barnhill III, Jimmy (Angie) Barnhill, San Juana (Glenn) Morris, Gail (James) Creel, Marcia (Phillip) Owens, and Susan (Sydney) Johnson; son-in-law, Louie Tanner; a special nephew, Ron (Lula) Collins; grandchildren, Ben Morris, David Morris, Jim Creel, Harold Perritt Jr., Mandy Pompey, Beverly Owens, Leslie Harrell, Ryan Tanner, Amber Friar, London Barnhill, Hunter Barnhill, and Macy Barnhill; great-grandchildren, Rob Perritt, Rebecca Perritt, Maddox Pompey, Steven Pompey, Bryley Harrell, Austin Harrell, Ansley Harrell, J. C. Creel, Haley Creel, Luke Creel, Alex Morris, Cameron Morris, Avery Morris, Aidan Morris, Miles Friar, and Hayden Friar; sisters, Jo Ann Driggers and Margaret Ammons; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Barnhill was predeceased by a daughter, Josie Tanner, five brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services, conducted by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center on Friday, April 5, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Raymond Singleton

Raymond Edward Singleton, 66, of Pawleys Island, S.C., died on Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Ralph Johnson Veterans Hospital in Charleston, S.C.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Pawleys Island.
Mr. Singleton was born May 15, 1946 in Pawleys Island to the late Alex Singleton and Helen Jean Manigault Singleton.
He was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church since his early youth.
After graduating from Howard High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served honorably for 15 years.
Upon completing his years of service he furthered his studies at Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Helen Singleton of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Vernon Singleton of Columbia, S.C., and Kaunda Singleton of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one daughter, Carlethia Singleton of Lawton, Okla.; and two sisters, Vanessa Singleton, New York, N.Y. and Tammy Singleton of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
