FUNERAL SERVICES

Pamela Hill


Pamela Lee Hill, 54, of Georgetown, S.C. died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Tidelands Community Hospice House after a lifetime illness.
Miss Hill was born in Georgetown on August 29, 1958, a daughter of the late Robert Walter Hill Jr. and Nita Weaver Hill.  
Pamela was one of God’s Special Angels who was loaned to the Hill family, and she was a blessing to all.  
She lived with her sister Susan and brother-in-law LaDain, who were her longtime caregivers.
Surviving are two brothers, Robert Walter Hill III (Sharon) and Wade W. Hill (Rose), both of Georgetown; two sisters,  Linda H. Jayroe (Richard) and Susan H. Port (LaDain), both of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning, April 2, 2013, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.  
Officiating was the Rev. Sid Taylor.  
Burial followed in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday evening, April 1, 2013 at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.

John “Ken” Meredith

John Kenneth “Ken” Meredith, 75, of Murrells Inlet, SC joined his heavenly Father after a long battle with COPD and Cancer on Monday, March 25, 2013.  Ken was born June 8, 1938 in Washington, D.C.
Ken or “Mr. Ken” as he was called had a love for people and always wished everyone a nice day.
Towards the end of his life he said, “Everyday is sweeter than the day before.” He was eager to share his faith and love of God with those who came to visit him.
Ken is survived by his wife of 55 years, Thelma Louise Meredith; daughters, Denise Ann Emers (Jeff) of Palm Bay, Fla. and Patricia Louise Vickers of Melbourne, Fla.; sons, Kenneth Edwin Meredith (Jennifer) and John David Meredith (Angela) of Rockledge, Fla.; grandchildren, Benjamin Emers, Jennifer Mason, Kathi Vickers, Jacob Sharpe, Colton Meredith, and Chelsea Pannell; and great-grandson, Austin Stone Bryant; brothers, Edwin Meredith of Charleston, S.C. and Robert Meredith of Murrells Inlet; and sisters, Janice Clark of Charleston, S.C. and Mary Behrens of Maryland.
Before moving to South Carolina Mr. Meredith was a program manager for Harris Corporation in Palm Bay, Florida, and a carpet specialist at Lowes, in Alexandria, Va.
During his semi-retirement he was an associate at the Markette in Murrells Inlet. He was a member of St. Paul’s Waccamaw United Methodist Church in Pawleys Island, S.C.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the St. Paul’s Waccamaw United Methodist Church in Pawleys Island. Officiating will be the Rev. C. Nels Ledwell.
In lieu of ?owers please make memorial contributions to Tidelands Hospice, 2591 North Fraser Street, Georgetown, SC 29440.
The family will receive friends following the Celebration of Life Service.

Dorothy Taliaferro

 
Dorothy Taliaferro, 65, of the Graves Station community of Georgetown, S.C. died on Friday, March 29, 2013 at  Kindred Hospital in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.  
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church in the Graves Station community of Georgetown.
Mrs. Taliaferro was born on April 4, 1947 in Georgetown, a daughter of the late Nathaniel Williams, and the late Hattie Fraiser.
She was a member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church since early youth.  
After graduating from Howard High School she moved to Newark, N.J. where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse.  
For 16 years she was employed by United Presbyterian Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Clarissa Moore and Ms. Aritha King, both of Georgetown; one son, Jermaine Taliaferro of Georgetown; a brother, Joe Frasier of Charleston, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Tyquan, Aijha, Keyana, Sammiyah, Mizaiah, Jermaine, Shikh and Quadree; two great-grandchildren; and an especially close cousin, Ms. Mary Herman of Georgetown.
Funeral services are entrusted to Wilds Funeral Home, LLC.
