A woman and two children who were in a front yard on Jerusalem Drive, off of County Line Road, were struck by a passing vehicle that blew a tire.
S.C. Highway Patrol Senior Trooper Bridget Wyant said it happened at about 5:10 p.m. Wednesday. The driver of the 1995 Buick — a 42-year-old man — was driving east when the tire blowout occurred. As he was leaving the roadway, the driver overcorrected then ran into a yard hitting a parked car and the three people.
The woman in the yard was airlifted to Grand Strand Hospital for treatment. The two children were taken to Georgetown Memorial Hospital. The severity of the injuries is unknown.
The accident is still being investigated.
