Three arrested for alleged metal theft

  • Thursday, April 11, 2013

While conducting a property check at Stein, Inc. in the Graves Community Wednesday afternoon, deputies noticed a suspicious vehicle.
The officers were patrolling the area because of reports of recent thefts.
“While sheriff’s deputies were checking the vehicle information, three suspects emerged from behind the locked fence. Deputies separated the suspects and during the interviews it became evident that the suspects came to the location to steal metal,” said Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson. “The metal located in the suspects’ vehicle matched items missing from within the locked fence. Stein, Inc. was notified of the incident.”
Arrested were Donald Ray Poston, Jr., 44, of 1917 Gapway Road; Jeffery Lyle Dukes, 31, of 426 Dawson Street; and Jennifer Lynn Perkins, 31, 905 Congdon Street.
All three are being charged with Trespassing and Petit Larceny.
