Georgetown police were dispatched to the Kangaroo convenience store on Highmarket Street at about 9:50 p.m. Wednesday because of a reported robbery.
Initially it was believed the crime took place at that location but, upon further investigation, it was determined it occurred at the adjacent car wash.
Brown said the investigation is continuing but it appears two men met at the car wash. One man owed the other some money. While they were there, one of the men robbed the other at gunpoint. There were no injuries.
The confusion about the location of the robbery was caused by the fact the call to police was made at the Kangaroo store.
